Grown in the volcanic soils of the Norte Pioneiro region in Paraná, Brazil, this Yellow Catuaí lot comes from Fazenda California, a farm owned and operated by the Saldanha family in Jacarezinho. Since purchasing the farm in 2004, they have rebuilt and modernized every stage of production, from plantation and milling to drying and storage. Now managed by Luis and Flavia Saldanha, both Q-Graders trained at ESALQ/USP, the farm is known for its sustainable practices and careful approach to quality, supported by a subtropical climate, consistent rainfall, and nutrient-rich volcanic soils at ~750 m elevation.
This double-washed lot produces a clean, balanced cup with soft sweetness, gentle fruit notes, and subtle chocolate-nut depth. Light roasting highlights its clarity, caramel tones, and smooth finish, while slightly deeper roasting enhances cocoa richness without losing refinement. It’s an honest, dependable everyday coffee — traceable, thoughtfully grown, and ideal for filter brewing or anyone who enjoys a clean, well-structured Brazilian profile.
