HOT ! Saarinen Executive Chair, Model 68S

This is a rare Saarinen Executive Chair, Model 68 UPC, originally designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll International in 1950. This example dates to ca. 1979. This has many of the features of the more commonly seen model 71A, only this iteration omits the back seat vent. It features a chromed-steel 4-star swivel base on casters, and it retains its Knoll tag affixed under its seat. The current leather upholstery is original to the piece and shows a deep patina; its color in person appears as caramel and saddle brown.

The chair measures 24.25 inches long, 26 inches wide, and 31.5 inches high. It has an 18-inch seat height, and a 25 inch arm height. There are several water marks and some fading of color on the leather, and there is some superficial creasing to the finish. The base has several scuffs and scratches, but presents nicely. Overall, this chair is in good vintage condition with signs of age apparent. Please see photos.
